as well…
Absolutely joyful, and they could be

Nell Bryden
What Does It Take
shows Nell’s vocal talent and array
supremely as she weaves elements of
bluegrass, American jazz standards
and retro soul. Recorded and
produced by Grammy award winning
producer David Kershenbaum (Tori
Amos, Tracy Chapman), Bryden’s
inspired vocals jump from a
laid-back lilt to a passionate plea,
only to be followed by a shaking
straight-ahead roadhouse boogie and
a dash of gospel for good measure.

2008 was a breakthrough year for
Nell in the UK. Her single
Second Time Around featured
on Terry Wogan’s, Janice Long, Bob
Harris’ and Alex Lester’s Radio 2
shows as well as being invited for
exclusive interviews with Chris
Hawkins on BBC 6, BBC London and BBC
Breakfast. The single appeared on
BBC regional radio playlists from
Scotland to the South Coast as well
as many university radio shows. A
superb 2008 was capped when Nell was
named Best Unsigned Artist of 2008
on Hits Daily Double.
‘The pleasures behind it are
timeless: everywoman songs, simply
played and beautifully sung. ’Word

Become an Animal
Gabby Young continued her
rise up the musical ladder with an
appearance at the SXSW festival in
Texas and has just announced details
of her new single We're All
In This Together'.
Gabby is also asking fans to
'Become an Animal' by offering 3
tiers of packages that enable you to
get closer to Gabby, her music and
also offer exclusive live personal
gigs for fellow 'animals'. You can
sign up to become an animal for
anything between £12.50 to £65.

As Gabby herself says "People
started finding ways of enjoying
more and more music for free, which
is wonderful. Instead of reacting to
this, the Record industry have tried
to arrest people for it and stop
them doing it. I just think if
people want to download music for
free that’s fine. Times change and
we need to change with them. So, we
need to give people things they
can’t download and more for their
money." You can find out more and

Wishbone Ash
39 years … and
still taking it to the streets It’s
a milestone year for Wishbone Ash®
as they tear up the highway and cut
loose in the studio.
In 2008, British twin-lead guitar
band Wishbone Ash® celebrated
39 years of rock ’n’ roll in
true Ash fashion: touring, touring
and more touring – in Turkey,
Germany, Holland the United States,
the United Kingdom and France. Plans
are also under way to record a new
studio album and to release a live
CD.

Formed in October 1969, Wishbone
Ash® was gigging by 1970. The band
garnered notice in the early days
for a unique blend of blues, jazz
and English folk. But it was the way
the guitars played melodic leads
together that would become Wishbone
Ash’s trademark, inspiring such
bands as Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden.
Throughout the years, many notable
musicians have contributed their
talents to the band, including
Asia’s John Wetton, Trevor Bolder
from Uriah Heep and Laurie Wisefield,
who would later play guitar for Joe
Cocker and Tina Turner.

The Harringtons
They beat
him. They deprived him. They
ridiculed him. They broke his heart.
But they couldn’t break his spirit.
The quote above is from the seminal
60’s film Kes cinema poster. Filmed
in Barnsley, the hometown of The
Harrington’s, the quote could easily
become the bands slogan.

Proud of their hometown and are not
afraid to exhibit it as their huge
South Yorkshire fan base will
confirm. The Harrington’s ooze
immense potential and are determined
to stay committed to their roots. To
sing with a hometown accent is
creating a public outcry with
accusations of hanging onto the
coattails of the likes of Arctic
Monkeys. However, it's worth a
titter to hear the gurgitation of
comments about The Harrington’s, but
while you're casting your opinions
you're missing the outline of the
fact that this band has already
caught your attention.
It's exciting times for this band
and if you haven't checked The
Harrington’s out, we suggest you
do…quickly!

RedTrack
RedTrack were born late in 2006,
quickly the band were "discovered"
by London management/Production
company Northern Blue Music.
At the time RedTrack had no studio
experience and about eight songs.
Northern Blue planted RedTrack in
Maple Recording Studios in Southend-on-Sea.
In August, 2007, RedTrack got back
in the studio and were able to
record and release their first
single (Pretty Boy/Inside) in
October last year.

The song received some great reviews
and was featured on Steve
Lamaq's
Radio One show. On the
strength of the single and their
great live shows Red Track also got
some great supports with bands
including The Maccabees, The View
and Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly.
RedTrack also sold out both of their
single launch party at Dublin Castle
in Camden. Since the release, they
have gone on to play supports with
Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly, do a 5 day
tour of Scotland to rave reviews and
play an acoustic session on Talk 107
FM.
